A cop car wizzed by my house last night at around 8 - something you don't see often around here.
Good gravy, you make me feel like I'm from the Bronx or something. Don't get Mike K. started.

Because people fall for it. Fairfield would be so much nicer if only there was some irrelevant little spot set aside for loitering and whiling away time. The illustration suggests people would line up for their turn on those benches. Illustrations don't lie, do they?Crazy architects. They always figure a new sidewalk design and a water fountain will turn the quietest boulevard into Robson Street on a Saturday night.

Huh, I didn't notice it until you pointed it out. I guess cop cars in Vic West just blend into the landscape like telephone poles and fire hydrants.

Once-stalled Fairfield development heads to public hearing

A Fairfield Road development stalled after buildings were razed on the lot is back on the drawing board and heading for a public hearing.
The City of Victoria agreed to send a ten-unit condominium project at 1857 Fairfield Rd. to a hearing after the architect resubmitted a design using non-combustible construction materials.
Wayne Hollohan, chairman of the Fairfield Community Association land use committee, noted the changes aren't substantial and the delay in the project occurred at the building permit stage.
Architect Franc D'Ambrosio wrote in his submission to council the new project with one- and two-bedroom units will be targeted to first-time and trade-down buyers looking for homes in the $300,000 to $500,000 price range.
The project, near the intersection of Irving Street and across the road from Margaret Jenkins Elementary School, will have an inner courtyard area and room for a small commercial business such as a small café on the ground floor.
