I had excellent service at Victoria BMW, I wasn't on the lot more than a minute when a salesmen approached, showed me the different models, then gave me the keys to three different models to try out. I bought one that afternoon. As far as service goes I haven't tried it out, with the four year free maintenance and the little driving I do right now the service indicator is telling me I should take it in for service May of 2010!

By the way if you want a car to give the M3 a run for the money try an Infiniti G37.
Very nice ride. That's what I actually started out to buy but the salesman at the dealership ticked me off with his attitude so I went to BMW.

Hi Bob,

I tried to PM you, but I'm getting this message: Bob Fugger has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

Cheers,
ptol

That's odd - I have messaging turned on?

If you bought the car then you should read the manual. The service indicator is based on time and/or mileage. You're using synthetic oil which is good for 10,000k's but it should be changed at least once per year if you're not doing the mileage.

Second that on the G37, Great car, also look at the A5/S5.

Heard a rumour the other day that perhaps Lexus will be moving to where the Volvo dealer is on Douglas and Hillside.

And where would volvo move?

Go away and never come back? lol - ok I don't like Volvo's...but I've heard that the dealership is in some mighty big trouble, got rid of some senior sales people a few months back etc. Its a Jimmy Pattison lot so a move of Lexus there wouldn't be too far fetched, although perhaps a little on the unconventional side as most Lexus dealerships I've ever seen/been in are directly connected to their Toyota counterparts.

On the Volvo note, I was reading in the paper today that Ford is in preliminary discussions with a few automakers overseas at the possible sale of the brand.

As for Victoria BMW, I have never been impressed with the service, the sales people, or the general attitudes that I've recieved while browsing, while I can't quite afford the 7 series, I certainly can entry to mid level and the thought crossed my mind a time or two, I'd certainly never buy it from them.

Anyhow, can we talk about some real cars luxury cars? Maybe someone wants to tell us about their Bentley? Aston? Rolls? lol

Volvo makes the best cars in the world. I have owned 4. OF course the ones I had were all 200 series.

My First car:

My third car (except mine was burgundy):

My fourth & fifth car (one was white and one was exactly like this):

My second car was a BMW Bavaria which was also a very cool car but not as good as the old 200 series:

I own one of these puppies and I love it.

2002 Volvo V40

It's the most reliable cars I've ever owned. It's safe and peppy and versatile and I think it looks pretty good too.

ooh nice!!! Perhaps in 5 years or so I will be able to afford a new volvo. For now I have to be content with my Hyundai.

Back on topic Hyundai will not stop calling me to get me to trade my 3year old car in for a new one. I mean I am not even off warranty yet why would I want a new car?

from The Fast and the Furious:Tokyo Drift

Han: The Red Evo's yours
Shawn: What do you mean?
Han: You're representing me now. What you think, I'm gonna let you roll in a Hyundai?

Actually, I saw my first Hyundai Genesis coupe today...not bad looking.

I did read the manual thanks, the service indicator will kick in after I put some more miles on it and give me a service date that is appropriate.

Re the A5 - I saw one today for the first time, black coupe, tinted windows, black spoke wheels, looked very cool. Haven't read anything about it though.

Re Hyundai - they are building some great cars right now. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any one of them. The Santa Fe is a terrific 4x4 in the mid size range and the Genesis is a great Luxo tourer. Rented an Elantra a while ago and it was fine also.

The prices in the states for them is also a real bonus and no warrenty problems.
Mind you the prices for all cars except BMW and Mercedes are fantastic in the states.
A Chrysler dealership was advertising brand new PT cruisers (not that I would buy one of them) for less than 10k.

I fell in love with the Tesla S this morning. I'm waiting to see one of these around Victoria... Electric Sedan with a back like a Station Wagon? Bring it on!

^ Yup that is pretty awesome. If I had 60K kicking around I would get it.

For about 30 k Canadian people will be able to pick up the slightly lower performing Aptera this year. http://www.aptera.com

This is why bailing out the Big 3 annoys me to no end. Stop spending tax dollars propping up those dinosaurs and allow the next generation of auto makers to take over.

Another 500 GM dealers selling Saturn, Hummer and Saab vehicles may also be cut loose as the automaker sells or shuts down those brands
