That's pretty good. How many visitors would Castanet see in any given month?

Was in Save On today and happened to notice the T-C has the cajones to raise their retail price to $2.75 - pretty ballsy IMO inasmuch as entities like McDonald's and BC Transit literally had to give the rag away for free and at that more often than not still had copies left over each day.

Wow! Castanet and the price paid for it seem like so pre millennium. Like internet bubble.

The Toronto Star is shutting down its StarMetro commuter newspapers across Canada, cutting 73 jobs.
The final editions in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto and Halifax will be published Dec. 20, a spokesperson for Torstar Corp., the parent company of both newspaper brands, told CBC News in an email.
"Commuter readers are using their smartphones, laptops and tablets to access their news," Bob Hepburn said in an email.

4.5 years after he was cut raeside is back at the tc i guess. a month or two after "the capital" announced they'd be carrying raeside.
The year just ending might be remembered for many things, and you will find hints of a few news stories on this page. And for a few moments, think of the messenger — a cartoonist named Adrian Raeside, quite simply one of the best cartoonists in Canada.
Raeside returned to the Times Colonist in the fall, after an absence that was far too long. Our readers quickly responded, saying they were glad to see him back. And so are we.

Frankly the fact that Gary Larson and the Far Side is making a comeback is an infinitely more exciting development IMO. Never found Raeside to be particularly amusing.

^ Yup. It'll be limited in the sense he's not going back into full blown syndication but new strips will appear occasionally on the site.
