Can't use "I don't speak English" as an excuse any more. I've pulled that one a few times in my teenage years :)

Know it all.

Anything to make government look a little less evil and a little more friendly works well for me. Even if the message is the same.

I find insisting that people wear their rollerblades on their hands a bit odd though.

And why is that dog's head detached from its body?

You'll notice that none of the beings on the sign have attached heads nor for that matter any terminating appendages (hands or feet), merely stumps. The canine is rendered much more realistically than what I assume are meant to be humans. Does this mean that only a certain Doberman-esque breed of dog needs to be leashed, since such a specific image was chosen?

If you look closely, they are not on the hands. But the right one is carried between the body and the arm, the left one is carried outside of the arm.

What about picture number three? Is there really a high risk of being bi-sected by the Starship Enterprise?

No, it's low-risk, and allowed. That's why it's green.

I suppose if you're caught you could argue that the signs don't outlaw any particular type of activity. Nowhere does the sign say "no skateboarding", it simply permits people with no hands and feet to carry their 767. er... skateboard.

^That needs some music behind it, a voice over describing it, and the viewing knob set to viral.

The kite surfers will come from all over.

Great post VHF. I laughed when I saw what thread you placed that in.

CRD 29 August letter inviting joint Esquimalt-Victoria design panel for a McLoughlin Point sewage treatment plant: http://goo.gl/xTywq

Proposed facility renderings of a McLoughlin Point sewage plant on Esquimalt's The Wrong Plan website: Township of Esquimalt - Sewage Treatment | The Wrong Plan

Victoria Esquimalt Harbour Society & Greater Victoria Harbour Authority reject McLoughlin Point as sewage plant site: http://goo.gl/gmSXF

Cruise berths should increase: report

Carla Wilson
Times Colonist
September 21, 2012

A consultant's report says a fourth, and possibly a fifth, cruise ship berth at Ogden Point would be required to accommodate the growing industry.

Demand on the Alaska cruise ship route is already strong and consultants Bermello, Ajamil & Partners are predicting it will continue growing.

There may not be room to drive the piles, if the proposed sewage tunnel goes through the area.

Are cruise ships passing us up now? We did have 5 in one day this year.

Not being able to accomodate revenue-generating cruise ships could be one more economic lost-opportunity cost of this unnecessary land-based sewage treatment plant.

Otherwise, there is a seismic fault north-east by south-west at the outer end of the wharves. The CRD doesn't intend to investigate the stability of either that fault even though a sewage tunnel would be cutting across the fault.

Victoria Harbour's 2012 cruise ship visit schedule appears to be pretty "healthy", as long as you're not an activist in the James Bay Neighbourhood Association's Environment Committee.

In a move some Victoria councillors say is outrageous, the not-for-profit Greater Victoria Harbour Authority has rejected Coun. Shellie Gudgeon as the city’s appointee to the GVHA’s board of directors.

In a letter to Victoria Mayor Dean Fortin, GVHA chairman Bill Wellburn says the board’s selection committee doesn’t believe Gudgeon — the unanimous selection of Victoria council — has the skill-set the harbour authority needs.
