I was originally looking exclusively at downtown condos, but I decided it was probably better to not be too picky virtually, seeing as I have never been there. The more options I give myself, the less I'll be scrambling next week when I'm there.

^ I think you can find a real nice little condo downtown for that price range if you are willing to go under 700 sqft....

For instance there are two places in the Mosaic on MLS.ca right now that are small but excellently designed so they seem a lot bigger.

Yeah I think you're in good shape. You can choose from just about any location. It's just a matter of taste. Personally, if I were you I would stick to d/t. Also there are many condo conversions from old character homes in near Cook St. Village. This would be my preference anyway.

It's only 2 miles from Fort and Foul Bay to Fort and Douglas.

This place is even closer:

Isn't that the only recent development in like 10 years in that area?

There's also the new building at the hospital. Thing of beauty.

I don't know, I can't think of any others. But I couldn't think of that one above, either, until I did a quick search.

Are you coming single? You could always rent a nice condo in an area you are thinking of buying to try it out before you take the plunge. I would suggest it might help knowing the areas and making a more informed decision.

yes, this I am considering. I'm comin out your way next week from the east coast to look around, I plan on spending a day to travel around the area. I plan on looking at A LOT of places to get an idea of what options I have.

Fell free to buy my condo while you are here. Very close to the downtown core (7 minutes walk to the Inner Harobur). I'm downsizing.
