your welcome, under the draught towers will be cupboards with a stainless counter.

here is a quick shot i just took of the bar,
the wood all came in as rough milled lumber. our guy machined all the wood and built everything.
the bull nose is Beach, the bar top is spalted maple and the thin black strip is a African wood called Wenge, it is black like it looks with really nice lines in it.
all joints will have wood plugs as well, kind of look like an old ship's deck and hull.

I am already thinking that I will be here a lot. Great selection. Is there going to be a corresponding bottle beer list?

Few questions:

1. Does the original side change at all, or maintain it's original character (tables and all)? In other words, two different vibes? Hope you don't try to go upscale with lots of cheesy wall hangings like the Irish Times.

2. Different menu, or experience depending on which side of the arch you are on? Can people flow freely back and forth between the two?

3. What are the tables and chairs going to be like in the new section? Yes, I may have to wait until opening day to find out some of the answers!

1. the original side will have a few changes, where the bar is now will be turned to more kitchen. so it will have double the size kitchen as now. all furniture will stay, there willbe a few small changes. there will be no cheezy wall hangings, not much on the walls at all except for six 50" tv's and a projector.

2. 1 menu for the whole place, it is afterall one pub. the doors to the pub now will be locked off and used for emergency exits. the main doors will be the government st doors.

3. tables in the new side are almost all hightops in the big bastion square windows with barstools with backs. there will be a few regular tables int he government st windows with chairs. and lots of bar stools at the bar.

hope this answers some of your questions, i will try and answer anymore. keeping in mind things change quick when doing these types of projects.

paint should start next week, then flooring, then finishing stuff.

This arch will be the path between the two sides. OSJ was good enough to give me a personal tour last week.

It looks great.

heres a update.
wood floors are here ina pile to be installed on Tuesday, whole place got two coats of primer and ceiling white paint is on, and the trim is being painted today as well as the walls got started. bar is getting close to being finished then will be covered till the week before opening, will start next week hanging tv's, lighting, the few signs and mirrors and stuff i will put up. Next week as well the back bar is being built over the coolers.
the front entry area will be some black slate tile, thos came in yesterday. I also had my new glasswasher and ice machine delivered this week. along with a bunch of my new kitchen equipment.
We have decided to make our high top tables, we are going to rip the reclaimed fir flooring planks down and build table tops in sort of a butcher block style.
here's some pics,
sorry, the cell phone pics didnt turn out as great as i wanted today.

ceiling paint............

long view of the bar...........

another bar shot..........

Busy shifts there will be two bartenders, the bartender doesnt just have to take care of the 20+ bar stools, but the other 148 seats ordering drinks. LOL
I have always run a small staff and it has worked in the past. we will see how this works once we get going.

I was more wondering about the entrance of the bar being close to the window rather than the other end where if needed staff good go between rooms. I guess they could Dukes of Hazard it.

Instead of the Dukes' window dive, did you mean to say the Starsky and Hutch hood scramble technique?

I'm impressed with this selection, especially considering The Keg only has six lines of Molson.
