I want to meet the guy who said "let's put a t-rex head with glowing red eyes on the side of the building." That's great!

I guess they need to have some kind of gimmick to get people in there.
It must have cost millions to build it and its never busy there
Seems to me like a waste of money to build it so big.
When the business plans fails they can negotiate with McDonalds to lease it.
Its already the right colour and they could build a big playplace in there.
Or have they already begun ???

Ron Cheek has lots of money and pretty good business acumen so I am pretty sure the business plan is doable.

Hmmm....exactly how many OTHER municipalities in the GVA do you think would have approved a t-rex head on the side of a building? I'm guessing none!
It reminds of me of what you see in beach tourist towns....

A few months ago I was at Lunds Auctions and there was this giant Asian carved wooden tiger on display. Who would buy a six foot tall tiger, I wondered. Shortly after, I spotted it in the liquor store. It actually looked kind of small inside that giant store!

I think business has been picking up lately. Advertising government prices seems to have caught the eyes of people who found the old liquor store's prices to be, frankly, ridiculous - like $14.75 for a 6 of blue buck... I have no idea if T-Rex's with glowing eyes makes a different.
The place is cheezy, but at least it's fun and making an effort to stand out. I can't fault them for that.

Seriously though people want to go in and get their booze maybe if mom is dragging a whiny kid behind her its something the kid can look at and climb on but I could care less and I prefer Gov stores.

It could have been worse, sort of like the craze post-apocalyptic Four Horseman-esque bronco stationed oustide Denver's airport.

Wow, that's very cool. The one in Denver is just straight up creepy.
As is Denver's entire airport.
Honestly, no surprise to me that there are so many conspiracy theories about that place.

I always find sculptures made out of recycled metal parts rather interesting. I'm sure most of you have seen the small motorcycles sculptures like that. That horse is awesome (Whitehorse, not Denver). The colour is wrong though, other than the 'mane' and 'tail' which look like aluminum, it ain't white!

It is white for 7 months of the year
Next to the horse there is also a Firefighter sculpture made also of recycled metals.
Made by the same artist.
You can also look up the Caribou sculpture located in Carcross Yukon IT is really nice as well.
Here is Firefighter

Apparently the original plan was for the monsters jaw to open and close and it would belch out smoke but the artist who created it wanted $20,000.00 to make that happen.

Loghouse has closed for renovations. It hopes to re-open in December as "our brand new BBQ brew house".
