^ this also speaks to just how slow progress has been and will continue to be on this project. I imagine even with modest inflation and increasing home prices that an investment of $145,000 today would net you a tidy sum in 990 years.

Parkside appears like quite the dominant structure as you head south along Blanshard towards the hill approaching Fairfield Rd.

So what's the verdict for City Place? Are they as hemmed in as they feared?

I guess we won't really know till the second one is built but I would say they are pretty hemmed in. I guess if you paid for a view you would be upset but we all know my opinion on that

I looked at the model for Parkside which showed the City Place building as well. There is a portion at the back of City Place that is slightly angled and is made op of large windows. This angled portion is aimed directly between the two Parkside buildings, so there will be uninterrupted views from those units.

I live for gumgum's construction updates. So what's the deal with the blank face in the second-to-last Parkside pic? Is that what our unfortunate friends in City Place get to look at?

Its that, or right into their neighbour's living rooms. These two buildings can't be more that 20' apart from each other. That should not have happened IMO.

Thank goodness they didn't build tall slim towers with smaller footprints. That would have been terrible

Yeah they really got the shaft. Another example of how something taller and skinnier would have been more beneficial.

I don't think they should have been allowed to build either building without some plan for the other empty lot. I don't understand how they managed to do such a good job just across the street and then much it up so badly on this block. Is there some sordid history behind it all?

I believe that they are more like 50 to 60 feet apart.
I am always anxious when we get down to the point when finishing is going up. What can seem like a great building can so suddenly go sideways.
Though as Aria comes together so far so good. I was worried about all the brick but it is a nice change from the other side of the street.
