We went out for Hike in East Sooke Park Today then decided to have a look at this place.

The show home is a 2 level home. Each level sold individually for 600 K.

Very small 2 br.

Some of the homes will be 3 floors or levels. Each level is sold individually.

The Show home has a spectacular view from Downtown Sooke in the west to Beechey Head in the east

The area is within the district of Sooke Boundaries which is very odd. It is served by the East Sooke Fire Dept.

City water is on site form a pipe that crosses Sooke Harbou

The whole development is strata everyone pays $240 per month. So a 3 floor house pays $240 x 3

they say there will be a Whale research facility on site and a seasonal restaurant

Not a good place to be when the earthquake hits the west coast of the island... Worse, a tsunami.

I can't believe how close you are to the water. Wow.

It's like a new-age "Lodge" at the Sooke Potholes! Anyone been there? If not, here. You'll see the resemblance.  ;)

Stayed at Sookepoint over the weekend as they now have a number of units completed.  It was nice.  :)

Definitely a place that you'll either love or not due to it being exposed to the ocean point.  It is about a 40 minute drive, which for us is fine as it feels like we are getting away without the drive to Parkville, Ucluelet etc.   Build quality seems very good and units are comfortable albeit a little small as compared to some other vacation rentals.  The views are spectacular but you are going to be on a rocky point off Sooke, so expect heavy wind, fog and rain.  We preferred the lower unit as it's closer to the water but other might not as you'll be carrying luggage down some stairs.  It's especially work for me as Mrs. Level brings half of our kitchen with us  :P

There will be ongoing construction for the next few years, so there are no standard amenities yet (hot tubs, pool, restaurant etc).  There is an exercise room normally available but it is shut due to Covid.  There are trails to walk over towards East Sooke Park, but it was too windy to venture far from the room this time around.  We also had to keep the door to the deck closed but enjoyed watching the water over some pretty amazing meals.  Had family drop in for dinner which worked well.

Anyways.....it's worth checking out.

That used to be the community amenity for the various houses that were to be built.

Guess that didn't go so well.

Life's a journey......so roll down the window and enjoy the breeze.
