That Chinese restaurant and the reservations.
Man hands episode.
The East Indian guy Jerry counselled on the restaurant concept.

But the food and service are consistently great, the bottomless soup and bread is an unbeatable lunch in the core

I have never been for the soup, but John's Place also has a bottomless soup lunch deal for $8.50 if you have a hankering for a couple bowls and some bread

Several of my co-workers and I do this on average about once a week. The soup changes daily and I haven't found one yet that I don't like.

That's a good deal.

Good enough for cheap-ass civil servants.  ;)

I see Pags has expanded their dining area into a temp space for the winter. Must be next door.

Pags has moved into the old Lens and Shutter/Henry's camera store.

They've taken all their tables from the West side of Broad Street, added a few more tables to the mix ... and moved them all into the old Henrys.

The Henry's space is about twice as large as is Pags itself ... so they're set as far as keeping patrons out of the rain.

Not much ambience in the old Henry's, but I suppose that can be fixed with a few bits of wall art and whatnot.

The spaces are in two separate buildings, without any common opening between them, so there will be a need to take the food "outside" and around to deliver it from the kitchen to patrons sitting in Henrys, but it's a solution that gets folks off the street ... and those tables on the street have been pretty much fully occupied (on nice days) for lunch and dinner.

The added bonus is that, for patrons actually sitting inside the real restaurant, folks will have much more shoulder room than ever in the history of Pags ... which may prove to be a good thing, as long as folks don't decide that  the cheek to jowl seating was actually integral to the vibe that has made Pags what it is!

I might actually go to Pags inside in its current set up.

Note that am one person that hasn't gone there for decades because the tables were too close,

Long before a pandemic.

For me the "cheek to jowl" vibe was the main reason to dine at Pag's (that and the bread). Lots of places serve equally good or better food.
