The bird poo global warming thing is so damn funny its like perfect satire. If you tried to think of the most irritating, far fetched response to bird poo on streets, you couldnt do any better than that

Instead of the Chalk Art Festival, people could show up with trained birds for the Worlds First Sidewalk Annual Bird Poo Art Festival.

Or you could make store owners responsible for cleaning the sidewalk in front of their establishment on a daily basis like most major cities.

Ya, it hardly requires any effort, super scrubbers are not required, just a simple hose-down.

San Diego didn't seem to have a bird crap problem when I visited last year. Seems that's the kind of climate we're heading towards. We don't need to reinvent the wheel here, lets just do what coastal cities in warmer climates already do.

Stopping people from feeding the seagulls would make the biggest difference.

And actually mandating that building owners take responsibility for ensuring their rooftops do not become havens for nests.

I replayed that video 7 times and no one was interested in seagull poop.

Over near Niagara and Montreal street I think it is, the city is going to be chopping down some trees for some sort of development (to be replanted later). I hear there are some rude notes left on them, lol.

BC already plants 300 million trees a year at a cost of about $60M. Sounds like someone is going to pocket a lot of cash at Ottawa's rates.

Why do they keep re-announcing the same thing and never actually do it? Just another feel good statement.

Except they are not producing any energy now, rolling brownouts over 16 states because of lack of power to the grid.

For context, Al Gore and his team predicted sea levels would rise by 20 feet by the year 2100. 

OK, we can quibble about details, but in less than 1,000 years you’ll have to raise the level of your dock.  That kind of work doesn’t come cheap.
