I'm sooo done with this place. The waiters and waitresses are complete flakes/ stoners and there was a big long hair in my eggs. Yuck.
Be grateful... it coulda been short and curly:eek:

This is the point where I could tell the "When I was a cook stories..." but I will spare all of you.
I have been enjoying the Douglas location especially if you get there around 8 am or so never even seen a line.

I kept eating. I set that portion aside, but I was still grossed out. I don't think regular hair cleaning is one of the staff's top priorities.I had a six inch hair in a spring roll I got at Superstore today. I just pulled it out and kept eating. People are so uptight about minor things with their food.

Besides it was the shifty service that really put me off. The hair just tipped me over the edge.

http://www.timescolo...hotel-1.1773417Food and beverage service at the Days Inn on Belleville Street is about to get an injection of humour with its daily specials as the Swiftsure Lounge and Diner takes on a new name and personality.
Petr Prusa, owner of Victoria favourite Floyd’s Diner, and business partner Rob Chyzowski have taken over the day-to-day running of food and beverage service at the Inner Harbour restaurant and bar. Next Tuesday, they will introduce Belleville’s Premium Quality Watering Hole and Diner to the city.
“We’re really excited. It’s coming along very well,” said Prusa.
The pair have been in control of the Days Inn’s restaurants — a lounge/sports bar and a diner/restaurant under the Swiftsure banner — since September and have slowly been making changes, updating fixtures, menus and drink offerings piece by piece. They’ve managed to do it while maintaining regular service.
Next week, the new Belleville’s name will be unveiled and a new chapter begins for the restaurant, which has 350 seats in two rooms.
*snip*
Both will feature the a menu that has plenty of local content and a sense of humour. There is a dish called “Oh Hair of the Dog” that features a tall-boy beer served in a paper bag with a plate of bacon and the “Homer Simpson,” which is a plate with two eggs, two bacon, house-made sausage, polenta and maple-style beans.
“We want to serve more local things, an artisan style and there will be larger portions,” said Prusa, who stressed this is not a Floyd’s, but rather a twist on hotel diners.

Why did they take out the pool table???
It takes up space on a busy night, I guess. But it was well-used.
I'm not sure why you'd remove the gaming stuff either, people like that, in many places. With no casino downtown, it's the closest you can get to drinking and playing some games of chance. It's not highly profitable, but it's pretty easy to service, the accounting for it takes less than 10 minutes per day. It's 99% digital using the self-serve machine that takes up less space than a bank-machine
Lotto earned about $2,500/mo. for a reasonably busy bar I worked with.

Nice work, shoe. We now have a date for the closure of the downtown location.
Hard to miss with its bright pink exterior motif, the Floyd's Diner chain's downtown Victoria location at Yates and Quadra streets will close in the New Year. The popular greasy spoon has been a mainstay of Victoria's culinary scene for the better part of two decades.
Downtown Victoria's Floyd's Diner breakfast eatery will shutter on January 1st

Whatever they ultimately build there can't help but be an improvement - one would hope although this is Victoria so you can never be certain - over the silly looking Wave across the street.....

Heck forget Yates.
I started going to Flloyd's when it was at the old Ingraham Hotel.
I wonder how there James Bay location is doing? For me the menu prices is what keeps me out. I refuse to drop a 20 for any breakfast anywhere period LOL.
Now if my memory serves me right, there was for a very short time a Flloyd's in Sidney, and then it turned into a diner with a 60's surf theme that didn't last too long. I think the girl there told me that the owner of Flloyds just gave it to her to run as her own place.
We need another Turner's ........those were the days of a simple diner, with simple food, simple coffee, good service, and low prices. The only place left in all of Victoria that can come even close is the Marble Arch in Tillicum Plaza. While it at some point incorporated a Chinese/Western menu after being sold to new owners many years ago....it's still a diner where you can get bacon and eggs and cup of joe for under 8 bucks all day long.
