I think he's being ridiculous.  He says in the video that he's mostly dated divorced women - he could do what most people would do in his situation and just stop dating single mothers, but instead he has to preach about how terrible he thinks they are? How about holding himself accountable for his decision to date them? If he doesn't like that his partner prioritizes her children over him, why stay in the relationship at all? Why wait until he gets attached to the children?  

Nobody would have guessed this is how the thread would end up.

Dating is so intrinsically personal that it is nearly impossible for any sweeping generalization like the author is making to be correct.  There is no such thing as a "correct" way to date.  You might as well say "you shouldn't date people with green eyes."  

 

Just date somebody you like, that likes you back.

remember you are not a bad person or uncaring if you admit that most - not all - single mothers are in a tough dating, career, and economic situation.

Look, it's possible there are some valid debate points there. But I'm not interested in picking through sewage to get to them. I'll take a pass this time. I have no problem engaging with specific points but I won't watch that video. Life's too short and there's too much good stuff still out there unread.

it’s too bad that some topics are too taboo or the person presenting the facts is easily dismissed as a bad person. instead of debating and learning about the issues.

it probably sets some people back. as the victim mentally squad or the “everyone is beautiful” crew tries to reassure.

it’s why Cardi B and Lizzo are celebrated by the poorest people. and Ben Shapiro’s sister actually makes bank.

I’m usually in agreement with you, but the crux of this guy’s argument is you won’t get attention from a woman with a child to the degree you’ll get from a single woman, so stay away from women with children because they won’t fawn over you.

Anyways, a man who gets dating advice on single mothers from a single father is going to have a tough go of things.

probably. but “lived experience” is overblown.

the person presenting the facts is easily dismissed as a bad person.

 

He's also quite easily confirmed to be a bad person if you take 2 minutes to look at his social media.

he speaks truth to power. so be it.

lots of people don’t want to be told facts that they’d rather not hear. that hasn’t changed for millennia.

show me strong and successful and financially secure and emotionally stable and fulfilled single mothers. I’m willing to take a look.

absent that, I will continue to believe it’s a tough struggle for them.

look at the past two White House press people. Both very strong women, no matter what side you are on. Both mothers. Neither single. It takes a village.

Outlier from what? Isn't the guy's wish that moms should put their kids on the backburner so she can service her new man? The whole premise is deranged.

Oh my God, the guy has a book called Unplugged Alpha.

Of course he does. Of course he thinks of himself as “alpha.”

“The wait is over,” he says. “My book is now available on audible! Yes, I narrated it myself.”

What a tool. These guys running around calling themselves alphas are incels with a bit of newfound bravado. They’re only cool on Twitter, but in real life awkward and creepy, overcompensating for something and constantly in search of validation.

Looking through his Twitter posts I feel like the next generation of self-help guides for men will have to unteach the BS of these frail ‘alpha’ men. 🤦‍♂️

When I countered, you dismissed it.

The biggest problem in our society for men is we have weak, self-centred men teaching other men how to be ‘alpha.’ What compounds the problem is our weak men are not considered weak when they leave a woman and her child, they are weak when they can’t get a sufficient quota of women to date them.

Now in comes Cooper, who chose the wrong woman to have a child with, is now a single father, who doesn’t like women putting in lots of effort to raise their child, teaching men how to choose the right woman so they give them attention, not a fatherless kid. It’s the blind leading the blind.

He claims one of the risks of dating a single mom is that the kids might call the guy an idiot. I agree with him 100% that that is a significant risk in his case.
