He's also against the EPDA. That might get him some sizeable donations.

I also did not know about the water upcharge stuff. I already don't water my lawn even though I have a sprinkler system, because it costs about $500 bucks per year. I can afford it, but I feel like its literally money down the drain just so I can mow the grass more and it stays green (oh, and I'll get more shrooms in the fall).

Well, if he wins at least Atwell finally gets a friend on council

Funny that Mike left this part out of his resume.

Michael Geoghegan, former president and CEO of the British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) in Canada, says he is considering a wrongful dismissal lawsuit after being fired last week by his own board. Geoghegan may contest that he was terminated because of a left-wing conspiracy on the BCCA board of directors, not because he appeared on a radio talk show and described National Democratic Party candidate Jenny Kwan as a pretty but stupid politician who has only lasted in politics because she’s an attractive Asian woman

I think that the one smart think that Atwell did was stop listening to a lot of his 'supporters'.

We don't need another Nanaimo. Saanich council is now working reasonably well together. Raising the spyware and police harassment claims again only tells me that he wants a fight.

But his hold the line on taxes policy will appeal to many. That's a rare stance.

Karen Harper also seems to have a strong stance against the tax increases.

It's in his resume. LinkedIn. 2003.

He speaks out of turn sometimes, it's hardly a fatal quality.

It is when we are trying to keep a productive council. Even if you ignore all of the muckraking and name calling he did when Atwell was elected, just look at his website. Loaded with grammatical and spelling errors, he basically makes his point for electing him by bashing everyone else.

We don't need that.

Exactly. But Geoghegan was one of the most vicious defenders of Atwell during the election, and his constant attacks on Frank were pretty savage as well. In my mind, Geoghegan is even more complicit in the last election being dirty then Atwell is.

Is there quite a number of people running for this position? I was driving through parts of Saanich today and there seemed to be a lot of different names on signs but I didn't pay that close attention.

And he got the wrong Police agency, bringing a claim the Mayor had to close back to life for no apparent reason. As soon as disclosure went out on the "Police harassment" case it quickly went away when the conspiracy theary could no longer be supported by even the most willing to distort reality.

I was driving along Mackenzie past UVic and Gordon Head last night. There were a decent number of big Karen Harper signs (Including at least a new with her picture) as well as several smaller Rebecca Mesereau signs

Rob Wickson has announced that he's running in this by-election.  He's on CFAX right now with Adam Stirling.
