Funny you don’t see it in other sports, hey? Or do you. Obviously not a sports fan.
Matt.
In North America it's not common outside of soccer, but it's extremely common in most sports in Europe and many other places globally.

We'll see about that! Whitecaps' departure to Orlando has been postponed as nine players and one coach on the Dallas team have tested positive for Covid-19. The whole team had negative results before arriving in Florida. FC Dallas is the Caps' first round opponent.

Is it that much to ask them to isolate for 3 or 4 months of the reduced season? if any choose to opt out it’s no big deal.

most top tier professional sports players in North America earn over $1 million dollars per year.

The MLS doesn't pay very much. Most MLS footballers aren't making anywhere near $1 million/year.

It's individual salaries. But in looking at it carefully, it is clear that they have mislabeled the leagues on the bottom. So not such a good example of visual display of quantitative information after all! I've deleted it. But the takeaway is that other than the MLS, most top-tier professional athletes in North American make millions per year. Soccer players move to Europe if they're good enough and want to make big money.

This tournament could literally come down to the last team standing....
Dallas and Nashville have both withdrawn due to the rate of infection among players. Today, the Toronto and DC United match was cancelled five minutes before kick-off.
