As mentioned I am an unapologetic Apple Cultist. Here's one reason why. My career was mostly mergers and acquisitions. I was looking after a recently purchased company and fixing it to be sold to AC Neilsen (Which we did.) This is way back. I had a huge Apple II system in my office but at this company I brought in a Macintosh. One of the old ones an SE.
I walk in the door and the VP, the IT manager and the Sales Manager are huddled round a computer. I see this and wander over. They had been there longer than I thgought reasonable for a "Hey look at this!" and asked what is going on? They had some names and were trying to print lablels.
"Oh, ok."
I went to my office and 10 - 15 min later I went for my morning coffee and they were still huddled.
As I passed I grabbed the list of names and photocopied the 40 or so name list.
After coffee I went to my office and typed in the names - I used a Desk Accessory not even opened a software tool and printed out the names as labels.
I walked over to the huddled six-figure'd PC genius masses and handed them the labels.
I did not have to say a word about wasting time.
I, as a golfer, believe in results. Only results. You can boast about your handicap, your clubs how nifty your outfit is or your new 600 dollar driver. On the course ... it is about numbers. What did you score?
In work (PCs and Macs for play I could care less!) It is about results.
I have had Macs hooked to mainframes, did peer to peer in 1988 - did emalim marketing way befoire the web. In all agencies and professional consulting firms we had Macs and Apple servers. Run all Adobe CC and it is way more elegant than on PCs - the only time I have been thwarted was when CADCAM was taken off the MAC platform. Sad really.
Reluctantly used Microsoft products and never ... ever had IT folks.
Also rarely have I needed an assistant. The Macs I have had have organized mybiz life and handled my affairs equitably.
If I did have assistants it was mainly due to needing language translations on the fly.
Sure if you want to buy components and build boxes or play computer games ... excellent.
I wanted to make money.
