It's only a 20 minute drive, though. That's about the same amount of time as driving from Esquimalt to Oak Bay.

Westhills Stadium is being expanded to 6,000 seats for Pacific FC home games. Simpson said more than 600 season tickets have been sold since they went on sale last week.

I love soccer but not enough to drive out to Langford for it.  What a shame that we can't have a proper regional stadium in a central location.

 

Depends what "region" you are talking about. They are aiming to be a team for, "The Isle". Langford kinda makes sense if they trying to entice people over the Malahat.

Mira Lawrence, who used to be on the NewVI (CTV2) and then Vancouver sports radio, is back on the island to do the PR for the new soccer team.

^ Yeah, it has been pretty awful. We have heard he is gutted. Our chances of winning the inaugural season just took a hit.

just a real freak thing.  went up for a header in practice came down wrong and damaged a leg or ankle tendon badly.

CFAX reported it was a ruptured achilles tendon, and that he's already had surgery but will be out for the season.

the first game is 4 weeks tomorrow and they are still pouring concrete footings i've heard.
