There is a ton of unused green space as it is. No need to add any more.

When I walked by here yesterday I noticed some actual excavation taking place at the back of the lot.

Why has the former funeral chapel been spared?

It is considered an important example of local mid-century modern architecture.

Yeah, it seems to be mostly clay at this point. Honestly very satisfying to watch them dig it up. Looks like a big pit of play-do.
Also, I've noticed that there hasn't been any work done on the adjacent Pandora property for quite awhile and they seem to be using the area as a parking lot for construction workers and for excavator access. I guess we won't see further excavation of the Pandora lot until this 1400 Vancouver is finished excavation or the project is approved.

The reason we don't go down Cook to Save On is the traffic is often backed up from Fort all the way back to Burdett or MacClure. I anticipate it being that much worse with Vancouver blocked off. We try to make our life as easy as possible and waiting waiting waiting in traffic does not fit into that.

It's a lot of clay which seems to be dug up quite easily.

The Wedge? that's not good.
1400 Vancouver Street (with a main entrance on Johnson) wasn't particularly good either.

"The Wedge" makes it sound like an illegal tenement haphazardly squeezed between two bigger buildings.

It was my favourite MuchMusic program.
