Holy smoke!

I'm incensed with the plays on words in this thread. Give it a rest.

Forgive them; for they know not what they do.

The church's foundation seems strong though. Maybe it'll rise again?

Anyone have any idea when this might actually go to council? I'm surprised they demolished everything without having a proposal approved yet.

The clearing of a site is irrespective of the development application, and with the building gone the property taxes are lowered, I think?

There's too many fenced off buildings or lots in this general area already. Ming's, Floyd's, Wellburns, add this to the list.

Whatever happens, I hope it doesn't take forever. Godspeed to the developer.

Fencing is the blue normal.

Godspeed to the developer.

Yes, I'm sure everyone wishes them well. You're preaching to the choir.

Give it 3 days. Maybe it will rise again then. If not, I am sure it can be resurrected at a later date.

Edit: I take this one back. There was no malicious or disrespectful intent, it was just a silly play on words, but it went too far. People can read the real Romans 12:2 for themselves.

Seriously though, maybe the mods should sound the final horn (shofar) on this. Some of these puns are clever but I don't want to get blasphemous.

Let's just say I'm hoping my posts on this board are not included when I have to give account of every idle word that I've ever spoken.

Most of the wood and debris has been cleared off site. Looks like they are moving to the existing foundation. Hopefully this building along with the Wedge will refresh the area nicely.

Any idea when we might see approvals for this project?

I think it could be approved by January assuming that there's not any hurdles at ADP or CotW.  I don't anticipate that there will be any controversy; despite Isitt's comments to the contrary, he has recently been voting in favour of market rental proposals (like Scott Building & the Charlesworth).  I think Townline has also earned a lot of goodwill with the city with their Hudson District execution...

They would still be able to excavate the site for the underground parkade while awaiting the development permit right?
