...The sad thing is that one of them will be our next MP in all likelihood. 

When was the last time Victoria had any real representation in Ottawa? And by "real" I mean an MP who was part of the government not the opposition.

As a reminder, these are the current candidates

 

Green: Kooy, Racelle

NDP: Collins, Laurel - or - Singh, Sabina

 

The Liberals held the Victoria seat from 1993 to 2006 (13 years). It's been NDP since then (13 years).

So it's been 13 years since Victoria had any actual voice in federal politics.

^ a voice with actual impact, not since before Paul Martin was ousted; that would have been David Anderson, who was the Environment Minister.

True but the Liberals and Conservatives were far behind last cycle. and I am not certain that even a star candidate could make up the difference.
