Having every FN language being given the same official status as French and English is ridiculous.
There is precedent just set for a different version of this. Bill C-81 (the only unanimously approved bill in this government's history, it's just waiting on royal assent now), was amended in the Senate to make ASL, LSQ, and Indigenous Signed Languages as the official languages of the Deaf.
Something similar could be done with FN languages - not the same status as French and English, but still officially recognized.
Now, what this actually means in the case of Bill C-81 is unclear to me. I don't see how it improves anything related to ASL, for example.
