Boom and Batten is back open again. Lots of spacing between tables. Fantastic food. Great view. Nice tunes.

I like this place.

Opening chef Sam Harris (ex Agrius, Courtney Room, etc) left a few weeks ago to take over the kitchen at Canoe.

Looks as if B+B may be getting outside seating on city property just to the right of the entrance stairs.

A city worker was relocating the garbage can installed a couple of months ago. There are white angle corners sprayed on the pavement delineating the area.

This is will be a great addition to the ambiance. It will also help to attract patrons since the current entrance isn't obviously welcoming.

The patio extends almost a quarter of the way along the semi-circle bay. This was last night. Great day for dining out.

That's awesome. Really hope that becomes an every summer thing.

The condo people are likely not very happy though!

Then don't buy a condo adjacent to a public walkway.

No doubt. But why?

The noise from several dozen folks chatting away right below your windows all day long, into the evening. I know that would drive me crazy.

boom and batten crowd not so noisy. I bet it’s not that much of an issue.

Most folks, regardless of ability to pay for higher priced dining, get noisy after a few glasses of wine.

It’s not even about being noisy, just the din of conversation, sometimes animated, sometimes high-pitched, sometimes intrusive, and that can weigh on you after a while. And the higher you go in an adjacent building, the more of it you tend to hear.

A lot of people here seem to think vibrancy in your immediate neighborhood is a negative, which is slightly ironic.

Do you live next to a busy restaurant patio?

If you don’t, you don’t support vibrancy.

When you buy a condo next to a restaurant that already has a patio, yeah, you don't get to be annoyed. Or even downtown where the possibility of a new establishment is very real. But in that location, I would sympathize with the folks that are annoyed.

Won't stop me from going to the patio though!
