Looks fine - will fit well in that stretch of Oak Bay Ave that's all four-story residential. I hope Gardenworks is able to find a new, similar urban home. They've been my go-to place for years.

One of the existing retailers here (The Frame Up) is liquidating it’s inventory now...

The design was revised as of March 5 (yesterday) but tweaks appear to be minor:

That's better than calling it the Tanager. Glad to know bird-themed condo names aren't taking off.

You just peck away at it, eh? Always trying to create another big flap, as if it was just another feather in your cap. Is it any wonder so many people are chicken about new development?

I know criticism can be tough to swallow but don't be soar about it. It's never too late to tern the other cheek.

(apologies for the typos -- my spellchecker seems to be on shrike)

Per the city's request, Jawl has slightly modified this proposal to include a rooftop garden.

An amenity that sounds good on paper, but one which will likely end up just being a maintenance expense for the strata.

Depends on who moves in. There's quite the waitlist for all of the City-owned community garden plots, IIRC

My building (1008 Pandora) has a large rooftop garden and is completely full and well used. There's a waiting list to get a spot.

Brantastic, could you snap some photos of the gardens when you get a chance? Would love to see it.

Does this mean there will be no nursery there any longer? I will miss it. I go there quite a lot as it's not too far to drive and emit carbon.

Yes, they will be closing. I believe they had been in talks with Jawl about returning in the new development, but without a large open space for a nursery it didn't make sense.
