Aryze Dev's 2566-2580 Fifth Street is going before council today, or at least it's planned to.

The proposal calls for 64 rentals over five-storeys, together with a new space for the Vancouver Island School of Art.

Oh, what’s the background of this being a “Friends-inspired” design?

Maybe it will look like a Quaker meeting house?

my issue with that Citified article is it’s on a Ross inspired project but opens with the famous Joey quote. when there are some fine Ross quotes to choose from.

It’s a good looking project, so it’s actually Joey inspired.

New photos. Respectively the SW and SE corners. The construction supplies and detritus have been encroaching some onto the adjacent empty lot, for lack of space directly onsite.

This will now be an affordable/subsidized rental project per this article (note:  there are some cool renderings in the article as well):

From seasons 1-5, Rachel lived in Monica's apartment, which was rent controlled.

A second phase for Aryze Developments Ross Terrace is planned for a lot adjacent to the underway project. If approved, a 15-unit building nearing replacement age would be replaced. There won't necessarily be a 'theme' tie-in with the Friends theme of Ross Terrace.
