I think the main challenge the Banquet is going to have is trying to staff the number of positions they need for a nearly 700 seat restaurant/pub.

Hmm, I guess it’s for the kids that are nostalgic and looking for an adult version of Chuckie Cheese.
So... birthday shootings then? But it's Canada, so no one gets hit.

I can't wrap my head around the exact location for this proposal: where is this expected to fit in the context of the current "Douglas Street frontage?"
To me the "Douglas Street" side of Uptown includes Noodle Box, the Chopped Leaf bistro, the Indian cuisine joint, H&M, Forever 21 etc., - where exactly is there sufficient space along "Douglas Street" for a 600+ seat venue and bowling lane?

Sticky Wicket is probably bigger than that.
Matt.
oh it is. but only ~45 fit in their "family dining" area in the southwest corner of the building at main floor. they don't let kids in the other 1400 seats (roof. 2-level games room. nightclub. big bads. clubhouse. or horseshoe bar area).

The OSF shows online as seating 200.

A bowling alley above some other tenant? I'm not sure I would like to be the downstairs tenant.

That would also place it if not immediately adjacent to then in very close proximity to the Babcock Systems office; and again, if I'm them giving a preso to a high profile government or private sector customer, or have high end systems staff trying to focus on complex marine engineering issues, not sure a 600-seat pub or the continuous cacophony from a bowling alley will do much for productivity. How sound proof can one make a bowling alley?

One of the most bizarre experiences I had when I visited Sendai in Japan was 10-pin bowling on the 8th floor of an office building. Not sure how the tenants below felt!
Babcock is in a completely separate building with its footprint starting 100 meters from the unit Banquet is eyeing. It would be the same building Browns is in.
Browns is in Unit 109 of 3680 Uptown Blvd, whereas The Banquet is in Unit 207 of 3500 Uptown Blvd. Based on the site plan, I assume they're above the parkade entrance and Laura, with the bowling above Flavour on the back side. If you look at the aerial on Google Maps, you can also see the rooftop play area for Kids & Co daycare on the south side of this building.

If anyone ran the TC10K this year, they hosted their Race Expo in the space that Jackerbie has highlighted. Quite a large empty space currently.
