Remember this started because someone was concerned about the speed of development in Langford and you didn't like her complaint. Why can't she complain but it's ok that you do.

She can complain all day long, but it’s not productive use of one’s time, maybe.

If you live in or move to a city, is it fair to decide others shouldn’t move there, like you did? That others have less right to be there than you do?

Like I’ve been saying, for all this tolerance and progressivism and the understood need for more housing, we sure hate the one place rushing to build it as fast as they can to provide the housing people need. We also hate that place for building roads and trying to improve infrastructure, and critique everything about it. And yes, we should be expanding highways or building more routes, or both. Greater Victoria is not done yet and never will be.

Meanwhile in the City of Victoria you have a new council candidate who moved here, and has decided people moving here change Victoria, so he wants to stop something about that. I don’t understand it.

What are you talking about, I never decided people shouldn't move places or that others have less rights..  Why do you talk in these riddles...  All I'm saying is do some research when you move.  Just don't expect the world to change because you did.  Let's go back to the people that moved to Songhees and wanted Harbour Air to shut down or those that hate there is a marina there now.    Both of those were existing (well the Marina plan was always there).  Or the folks that move into a condo where the parking is an extra cost so they think they should be able to store their vehicle on the street cause they pay taxes...  Look into something before you buy.  If you want to create the change then fine but don't whine that it's not fair.

You say we should build bigger roads...  That doesn't make it that we should...Greater Victoria is finite...  Sorry you had to hear that... We aren't there yet but there is a limit.

It’s good to be famous for something. It’s good to see Langford is on the map!

Langford is screwed.

Hardly. Life long Langford resident here. No stake in the politics or development game. Once everyone settles down and the old guard stops trying to "Atwell" the new Mayor and Council I think we'll see that many new houses will be built, development will go on, those 15,000 jobs that Stew said were gone will still be there, and the usual suspects will continue to make money hand over fist. They just may have to work a little harder or get a bit more creative. I expect the new Mayor and Council, being new and inexperienced, will trip over their junk a time ot two before they get in sync. I am willing to cut them some slack for a bit. As far as Sterling, he has gone off the rails on this one. Much like he did when Horgan called the snap election. He is into the sixth or seventh day of incessant rambling over the same thing. It is really boring, ridiculous radio. I am usually a fan. He is better than this. It is obvious that he has a new source from within the old guard who has promised to provide him with content from here on. Sterling has lost all his objectivity and is in attack mode. If I was the Mayor I wouldn't go on there either. You don't know what would be coming and from where.

Working a little harder and getting more creative equals big $$$.

If we are in a housing crisis, like the politicians say we are, obstructing the seamless supply of new housing, which Langford was renowned for, seems like a counterintuitive agenda.

Stirling must know something the rest of us don’t. And Goodmanson should appear on his show. Being a politician doesn’t equate with only talking to media you like, and answering questions you approve of. You have to roll with the punches especially when you’re the face of a historic change to a community.

These words kinda miss the point tho.

Sterling is correctly holding LCC to account for bad process. Process (and diminishing sunshine) are all that protect democracy, on our behalf, and we sure as %$#@ need more of that.

Sterling is also correct to jump fast, loud, and clear with any new council. The cluster over the "emergency" tree bylaw should offend anyone who understand how municipal bylaws should be passed, and it should never happen again. At the very least, this new council may pay legal fees that the taxpayers would rightly point out are a result of their inexperienced mistake.

Last Monday’s public hearing should be voided. If the public could not participate because of a bad zoom code, that nullified the hearing, IMO, and possibly the opinion of legal counsel.

From what I can see on social media is that Adam hit a nerve when he started questioning the goings ons with Langford city council. The people replying the hardest are going to smear Adam and have a history of doing this to the last city council in langford during the election.
Going with the councils actions with the tree bylaw they were done completely incorrectly and should be redone correctly. Given that the tree bylaw is one of the first things done by this council it doesn't give the impression that the next 4 years will be better. The one councilor that stayed has a history of behaviors unbecoming the office or using the office for personal gain via bullying and using the office to force individuals to do what they don't what to do bypassing due process basically abuse of office. As exampled with the council recordings Adam had shared and that one is most likely just one of many  that we yet to know about.
When you become a councilor you are educated on ethics of the job and should have good ethics. Basic right and wrong that seems to be more and more rare these days.
From what I hear and have seen I expect we will be seeing more and more questionable behaviors, pushing things through and unruly behavior in council meetings.
Should the mayor have gone on Cfax? Yes he should have but he wouldn't have had his handler with him to steer him around the questions so he did not. Like it or not he has no experience on how to adequately answer questions with out knowing what he should and should not say this is not his fault just inexperience this is evident with his letter to the editor.
Langford has an incredibly out of touch mayor that spends no time in the municipality and has absolutely no experience in the field this tells me that he will be having someone "Pull his strings" for lack of a better term or "helping him make the right decisions" watch how he votes on things over the next few years it should be clear whats going on.

The housing, building and projects will not be going forward as they have been and most likely will be changed to reflect the current councils whims or to put their own stamp on things. We need to remember this last election was about getting Stu out for obvious personal reasons good governance came second or third. Their was a clear ax to grind against Stu. Hopefully this council doesnt just go clear out of its mandates and trying to take on federal, provincial or world issues at the determent of dealing with the municipalities issues as seems to be the new norm.
We need to start facing the fact that we no longer have city councils that serve the people but what is looked upon as little dictatorships or kingdoms the tare ruled by popularity and whims. Langford is lucky its in a spot that its grown enough and correctly that it has a stable tax base.
I would say that the majority of financial success Langofrd will and is enjoying is due to the past councils future planning.
Time will tell how things will go but given this councils first steps out of the gate I would say not well at all.

Langford also has a nearly $50 million RCMP detachment expansion bill coming up.

That’s going to either result in a large tax increase, or require more development to overcome said large tax increase.

No offence, but who would ever want to be a councillor or mayor unless you had further political ambition and was willing to suck it up to get there. Yuck.

Under the modern day outlook you’re right. Under the historic outlook, it was a service to your community.

You can get a good sense of where society is headed by seeing who represents the electorate at this level of government.

Goes to council tonight.  Also looking to double the size of its full time firefighters.  Expensive times for Langford.
