A major redevelopment of this site is now up on dev tracker. Plans call for light manufacturing at grade and self storage on the upper floors; the design is inspired by shipping containers. Note that the building will not be set back from Douglas Street.

And actually that pillar sucks too. I mean pull the glass out to the edge.

The structural engineer might protest. Glass can’t hold up that corner.

Yes but the pillar could be inside the building. The more I look at this, the less I like it.

I can't argue with that. The ground floor design is more apropos somewhere off upper Douglas Street.

That old version looked way better. Darned decent, actually. But the last thing Victoria needs is more housing.

How typical of BC projects: watering down something nicer has always been the norm here.
