Something like the Home Hardware building on Oak Bay Avenue could really be a great thing on that corner.

Watch this sail through and even be lauded. "This modest proposal respects the scale of the neighbourhood, we wish more developers didn't always claim they need more and more height to break even. This project proves even 1 story is economical downtown."

Ugh. The CRD housing next door is higher density, not to mention the old medical building next door, or the new Mondrian. And it is ugly to boot.

1 story? 1 story? Better than a parking lot I guess, but seriously?

That really is lame. Maybe they could add some river rock.

Slats are the new river rock. If Fort St. is about mock Tudor, then Cook St. is all about slats.

This is the single worst building I have ever seen proposed. Anyone want to bet that the land is already zone for this and they just need a building permit? Pretty sure in that case there is nothing that can be done.

It has a whole new look!

Well, if they want to build an ugly building on their own property, so be it. It won't help them win tenants, unless a needle-exchange is proposed.

City's zoning map says CA-1 Pandora Avenue Special Commercial district (with special restrictions?)
Basically a list of commercial uses, commercial/residential where ground floor is not residential, and allows building height up to 15.5m, 51ft.
I dunno what type of retail this area is craving that the developers of this building think they can fill the space with. Very UN-ambitious.

^I think that shot's a preview of the upcoming season premier of "The Walking Dead". "Rick, I've finished boarding up the barn! We should be safe from those walkers."

Aastra, I love that Photoshop. That's D'Ambrosio's design, isn't it?

The plan is to put up the ugliest building in Victoria? Surely something more interesting could go there.
Don't be so sure.

This proposal may be the worst use of available land we've seen in many years. I truly hope it does NOT proceed. :whyme:

The sign for this building on that lot isn't there anymore.
