Oh and btw, I have it on good authority (a friend that works for BC Liquor) that BC Liquor property has been sold to a developer.

Would not be surprising if Monimos is the purchaser and the legion and Corvette are two seperate projects.

I'm not seeing any similarities between this building and view towers. Not in design, height, size, landscaping, site, financing, or economic class.

No kidding. If those newest renderings are for real then everybody should feel pretty good about this project. The only issue would be the height and whether or not that's a precedent that Esquimalt wishes to set.

sdwright, that makes sense. These are two separate projects and location map was pointing to the wrong location. We'll have this fixed and a separate thread created for The Corvette.

No worries!. Not meaning to be such a trouble maker being a newbie and all! :)

So that mean The Corvette thread will be reopened?

Just with this proposal, the Corvette, AND 669 Constance Ave in the mix, we got three high rises in the works, and with all three together, the sore thumb issue for the legion should become a mute point!

This spate of buildings is great for Esquimalt. With a bit more population to support their downtown, Esquimalt should be as desirable as any other waterfront part of town.

That's one of the worst ground floors I've seen. The whole thing looks like a hospital or institution of some sort.

Yes very 1970s ground floor and overall too fatscraperish for my taste. An OK first attempt. Keep working at it and in 15 or 20 years there might a design worth building.

I think you see a lot of this stuff farther east. Just go to Google image search and enter the name of any prarie city along with the phrase 'highrise condo' and I bet you'll see similar examples.

Needs a lot of work! THe ground floor reminds me of the Sutton PLace Hotel in Vancouver.

Visit my blog at: https://www.sidewalkingvictoria.com

It has a whole new look!

But this is not their first attempt. Could these be the legion thumbing their nose at the township for not allowing 17 stories and coming up with a feasible building at the zoned 12?

It has passed some type of step today and is going to council in the New Year.

It's way too wide as shown in that most recent rendering (from October).

Well the city wouldn't let them have the height, so now they are building within the zoning for the land that exist.
