Did anyone get one of those classic Holiday Court T-Shirts that were for sale at Old Nick's on Johnson? I wonder if they still have them?
Nowadays most people die of a sort of creeping common sense, and discover when it is too late that the only things one never regrets are one's mistakes.

Burned Holiday Court Motel site to be redeveloped

.............the fire will not slow down the redevelopment planned by property owner Andrew Sheret Holdings Ltd."It won't affect us at all," said Brian Findlay, president of the Victoria-based bath and kitchen retailer, which for years has planned to demolish the derelict building at 740 Hillside Ave. to make room for a new showroom.
The destruction of the motel, once famous for the brazen drug deals, prostitution and acts of violence carried on behind its walls, might have been complete had more than a dozen firefighters from the Victoria Fire Department not tackled the smouldering fire by mid-morning Sunday.
The building sustained at least $110,000 of damage but is still structurally sound, said Myles Anderson, Victoria's chief fire prevention officer.

Whatever happens with the motel site, I just hope the storefront is a lot better than the one on Long & McQuade's building.

I can't help but wonder what will happen with the Bay & Douglas area. Sheret will be moving eventually, the situation with Traveller's Inn is unclear at best...

Although my information is 3rd hand, I understand that development of the site is a few years away at best.

I have a feeling A Sheret will have surface parking fronting onto Douglas.

Know it all.

What a huge mistake that would be. It would be great if they could at least put the parking in back and also be nice if they could throw in a couple of floors of office above the store to narrow the perspective of that street a bit. Of course thinking that they would build with no or little setback kind of like Volvo did.

Commercial on the ground, offices up.

2 levels of underground parking.

Is the building set back? If not this will be a great addition to the area!

As long as there are windows on the ground floor along Hillside. Not another security-first frontage like Long & McQuade's, please.
