The green motif hints that the food could be cannabis-infused — “That’s how we draw you in,” jokes chef Jonathan Duquette – but they grill top-of-the-line burgers in four types: cheeseburger, pork, jerk chicken and veggie.
Duquette, formerly found in a fine-dining kitchen, thinks food trucks became a safe space during the pandemic when regulations were changing seemingly by the day. Restaurants pivoted to take out, but he says the uncertainty still scared customers off.

So you can't get dinner at the beach, and they're pitting two dessert trucks against each other. Seems like it could have used a bit more thought.

The action kicks off on May 6 with the first beach food day at Esquimalt Lagoon. A rotating roster of food trucks will be set up on the beach every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until Aug. 28.

A local hot dog gem is looking for a new owner and a new place to call home.
Mr. Tube Steak has been an iconic late night snack and shopping companion to downtown Victoria’s Capital Iron for what feels like an eternity.
The former owner and operator of those carts is now retiring and there are two Mr. Tube Steak carts up for sale on Facebook Marketplace for only $5,000 a piece.
Both stands come with everything you’d need to operate the cart including on-board refrigeration, storage bins and a working sink.
However, the carts do not come with permission to operate where Mr. Tube Steak operated and whoever is lucky enough to get their hands on these carts will not be allowed to operate under the name Mr. Tube Steak.

Yup, my thought exactly. Finally something appropriately priced. Actually seems a bit under value considering their long standing reputation. But would depend on what arrangements they have to operate where they do. I'm guessing you can't sign a lease for the sidewalk.

Oh wait. I just read the rest. It is just the physical assets, not the name or location.
Then, yes, that is appropriately priced.
Even though I never purchased from them, I will miss them in that location. A Victoria institution.

What’s this thing though, a propane bbq on wheels with a bar fridge? Bubbles and Ricky would get you set up for a couple dozen chicken strips, the $9 kind.
