That's what is likely to happen with the present Lexus/Toyota site, with an underground tube station and heliport on the 30th floor.Or a Mayfair expansion, with a monorail connecting the two buildings...

Yeah, every time I go to Calgary I can't stop but thinking "man, I really wish Victoria had row upon row of tightly packed in houses with pink stucco and baby blue vinyl siding."
loool..
If you remove vehicle storage from the equation, a dealership requires a lot of space. A single dealership for 2/3 makes (Toyota, Lexus, Scion) for a large geographic area needs a lot of room for service bays, parts warehousing, support staff etc.
With an eye to how old the existing buildings are, I would expect that as soon as this one is finished they're going to start looking at getting rid of the cramped and dark facilities across the street.
I can see a new Lexus dealership not needing a lot more space than they are currently on (just better arranged) .. So who knows.. perhaps shortly they'll rip out Dennys, the used lot and the service area and throw up that 27 floor condo-block you're asking for..
cakes..

Dealerships must have some decent margins with capital projects of this size?

Really? I was told different. Are they both going to stay there or is Toyota just going to be there temporarily until they refurbish the old dealership?

Is the used car lot going to remain where it currently is then with Toyota and Lexus moving over?
I had thought that Lexus was to remain on the present lot and Toyota was to move across the street.

I believe they are both moving over while the original buildings are remodelled and then Lexus will return....not sure about the part beside Denny's, I bet that gets split off and sold

I don't know if I have ever seen so much effort to build something so similar to what was on a site previous to a demolition. What a sad state of affairs.
