Well I am looking at more than just a quck reface, but I was still a bit surprised at what I am beng quoted for a small kitchen. That being said I have not selected the cheapest materials so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. I am still hoping someone has had some first hand experience with the "TKT" to assure me they do as good a job as they claim.

They do good work I used them to make a panel for a bathroom once. For new cabinet faces I used a place out in Central Saanich near Butchart that was really cheap. Can't remember the name...

That is pretty much standard practice. I am just not sure what other businesses offer a similar service.

I'm a trades-person and of course I had to jump in.

If you are looking for Owner/Operator of small local companies I have some friends that do different work:

We are a small group of latin guys that somehow got involve in trades years ago, we are licensed, insured etc, currently networking with each other and of course, we like to do our best.

Not only because they are my friends but I have seen this guys work in our own houses:

Martinez Harwood Floors (Refinishing and installations)

Tico Landscaping (I've seen his last paving job and I was so amazed by it)

Premier Roofing

Aztec Painting

I saw a question about if a company would let you get dirty and help, I don't think it's very common due to different liabilities and problems that a company can run into in case of an accident, I mean, you wouldn't want something to happen to you as a Home Owner but if it does, I don't think you would be cover, that would be the difference between a Company and DIY.

I worked on a job with Belfor once, they are top notch pros, but I think they specialize in insurance claims where speed, efficiency and get-it-all-perfect-now counts. That doesn't make them the least expensive, I'm guessing, if your work is not under a claim.

I'm considering Parker Johnson for the roof replacement because they're good but they don't do interiors. The vaulted ceiling drywall is soft in spots so I'm fearing some extensive work is needed. Thanks for the recommendations so far.

Downs is working on my neighbours place after some severe water damage from a sink that overflowed for 6 hours.

From what he says they are doing teriffic work.

But they have been working on and off there for three weeks so it can't be cheap.

Life's a journey......so roll down the window and enjoy the breeze.

We had a couple of blinds cleaned by Baby Bubbles Blind Bath. Weird name, I know. But they sure seem to know what they're doing with blinds.
