I added a new "Motoring in Victoria" collection to Historypin that some of you might be interested in. Some of the more recent additions are of vehicles owned by some local businesses:

The Sidney Butcher

Homestead Farms

Alert Service Co.

Moore & Whittington

I figure the first two were photographed in Beacon Hill Park while the third was definitely taken on Quadra Street. The Moore & Whittington photo, the oldest, is a bit of mystery so if you have any information please let me know.

I'll wager the last truck is a variation on the Ford Model T truck. Judges?

"Beaver, ahoy!""The bridge is like a magnet, attracting both pedestrians and over 30,000 vehicles daily who enjoy the views of Victoria's harbour. The skyline may change, but "Big Blue" as some call it, will always be there."

Up until a few years ago, there was a stained glass sign for an automotive museum at the corner of Douglas and Burdett? It was a parking lot back then... anyone remember the museum itself? Or where that cool sign might be hiding now?

It was not a huge museum but it was one of my favourites as a kid. Had maybe 30 cars in it? Maybe a few more?

As a a kid in the 70s the annual school field trip from Tsawwassen was to Victoria.   We would see Miniature World, the Provincial Museum, the Legislature and the Classic Car Museum

^ We were living the same life Bernard just about 10 years apart. It was still the same in T-town in the 1980's.
