I’m sorry but with so many drivers out there with horrific driving habits please bring back photo radar and red light cameras.

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday evening in Esquimalt.
A witness said the driver was turning left from Head Street onto Esquimalt Road around 7:50 p.m. when she hit the man, who looked to be in his 70s. The witness told the Times Colonist the man appeared to be in the crosswalk when he was struck.
The busy intersection is controlled by traffic lights.
B.C. Emergency Health Services said it received a call at 7:51 p.m. about the incident. Paramedics treated a patient who was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Shawnigan Lake RCMP are investigating after a child was killed in a crash north of Shawnigan Lake on Monday evening.
Mounties say the 12-year-old victim was rollerblading with their family around 8:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of Hillbank Road when a northbound Honda Civic lost control and struck them, and then a telephone pole.
The two occupants of the car, the driver and passenger, are both 17 years old and suffered minor injuries in the crash. They were both taken to hospital for further treatment.
“While we do not suspect that alcohol was involved, it has been determined that speed played an important factor in this tragic incident”, said Cpl. Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the BC RCMP in a release Tuesday.

"concerned bystanders?" They were probably all gathered around to find out who could possibly be this stupid.

On Sept 28, 2025, at approximately 10 a.m., a dark-colour Honda sedan collided with two individuals as it exited Shelbourne Plaza onto Pear St. The two individuals suffered significant but not life-threatening injuries. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene and was last seen driving west on Pear St.
Following a review of available video of the incident, officers in our Traffic Safety Unit identified both the vehicle and the driver. On October 9, 2025, the driver was issued two tickets under the Motor Vehicle Act: one for driving without due care and attention and one for failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
Each ticket carries a financial penalty of $368, and the driver is subject to penalty points against their licence.
