it's for real
Yup...she (and I presume her daughter) are a fixture on Craigflower. I've no idea how she hasn't been ordered or forced to stop. And yeah they just put them out there on a table, uncovered. Not very appealing IMO; OTOH I've yet to see anyone actually stop and buy one of her pies....

Maybe the pies being sold are not those ones on the table

I've always thought her set up looks like a hazard - (and some sort of traffic/safety violation?) being right out there in the road and just before the turn.
Quick Ma, Stop the car - I gots to get me some pie!

Like plastic display sushi? Those are definitely the ones she's selling. Let's hit her up for a menu, I wonder if she's got anything savoury.

Salt & Pepper Fox might be up and running next week at their downtown take-out spot.

Rathskeller is now for lease as "restaurant space".

The space formerly known as the Noodlecart, on Blanshard across from Yalla, has been replaced by what appears to be a new ramen joint. The building exterior even got a new paint job. Didn't get a good look or snap any pics.
The Japanese restaurant Sakura on Quadra adjacent to the Market on Yates is getting (or may have gotten - couldn't tell if it is completed) a facelift, which may be part of the overall beautification of that area.

No more mandatory high heels for BC waitresses
In other news: With the move to no more "mandatory" heels, Cactus Club, Earl's, Shark Club and Brown's have all scrambled to add one more question to their job interviews: "Tell me Sarah, do you prefer to work in heels, or flats?"

Hold on, the title says "no more mandatory high heels," but that's a bit misleading. There has been no decision on that front just yet, it's currently just a proposal.

There are people right here on this forum who have worked in bars and restaurants that never would have got ahead had they not been allowed to wear their heels.
