very few dogs today, but a pretty exciting game. We were trailing 1-6 then tied it up in the last inning but the sweets got a single run in the 9th and the cats got 3 outs pretty fast.

Now the HarbourCats are home for FOUR important games:
- TONIGHT (THURSDAY) – 6:35pm vs. the Cowlitz Black Bears
- FRIDAY NIGHT – 6:35pm vs. the Cowlitz Black Bears – this is the wildly popular fireworks night, presented by Wilson’s Transportation. 18 minutes of fireworks up close and personal, right after the game. Grab a pop or a popcorn at the concession and then sit back and enjoy the show.
- SATURDAY – Canada Day game, 1:05pm start vs. Cowlitz Black Bears. Skydivers and ‘Zamboni Man’ Marko Kardum return.
- HOLIDAY MONDAY – 5:00pm start vs. the Victoria Mavericks – LHP Claire Eccles will start this game on the pitcher’s mound.

HarbourCats are down 10-6 going into the 9th. Claire Eccles comes in to pitch. She allows 3 hits and one run. So it's 11-6 going into the bottom of the 9th.
HarbourCats score 6 runs, win 12-11 in a walk-off, she gets the W. Crazy.

^ Thanks for that VHF. You have encouraged me to catch a sunny Sunday afternoon game. Do you know who's pitching for the Cats?
EDIT: Starting pitcher?

I do not know. It will likely not be Claire Eccles starting, but she is fairly likely to get into the Sunday game if conditions are right.

It's nearly the end of another season.
The HarbourCats have just three crucial regular-season home games left. They are all 6:35pm start times at Royal Athletic Park early next week.

They could sure use a big crowd tonight to cheer them on to victory and help propel them into the playoffs.
We lead the north division but it's still a tight 3-way race for that one playoff spot.

Wenatchee split a doubleheader last night, meaning....
Wenatchee: 13-10
Victoria: 14-11
- The HarbourCats MUST finish 1 game AHEAD of Wenatchee.
The HarbourCats can win a maximum of 16 games. SO... if Wenatchee wins 3 of their final 4 games, they win the 2nd half, regardless of what the HarbourCats do.
- IF the HarbourCats win their final two games AND Wenatchee loses 2 of their final 4 games, The HarbourCats are in.
Bottom line--
For Victoria to get in: Any combination of 4... wins & Wenatchee losses
For Wenatchee to get in: Any combination of 3... wins and HarbourCats losses. They control their own destiny.
ALSO....
Bellingham is tied with Victoria with 11 losses. If Victoria wins their final 2 games, Bellingham is eliminated. Or any combination of 2.
Wenatchee and Bellingham play a 3-game series beginning Friday.

The HarbourCats "magic number" is now down to 3. Any combination of 'Cats wins and Applesox losses this weekend and we are in the playoffs.
And if we make the playoffs we will play one home game in the division final here at Royal Athletic Park on Tuesday at 6:35pm. That game will be against Kelowna, the first half champions.

Bellingham eliminated.
We need Wenatchee to lose at least one of their last two games. And both, if we lose tomorrow (our final game).
We ended up 1,899 average attendance, by the way.
