TC has a story today. It says Ammon's five-month suspension will be served during the next school year.

I'm curious why the Times-Colonist has NOT reported on the Vic High teacher scandal? A teacher suspended for an inappropriate relationship on May 1st was still teaching my child yesterday and the school has sent out no communication whatsoever. I had to find out about through social media and phone the school to find out what is going.

“[Ammon] gave the student gifts and continued to do so in disregard to direct requests from the student’s parents, and his own assurance to parents that he would adhere to their requests,” the decision said.
When I started the article, it seems as though this was a teacher who maybe didn't understand how his actions could be seen as inappropriate but the above quote changed that for me. Lying and going against a direct request from the parents makes his actions seem a lot more nefarious.

I may be wrong, but I think they haven't reported on the RCMP investigation into the Downtown Penticton association's financial irregularities that may have occurred during Kerri Milton's time as the head of the org. She is now the head of the DVBA.
Whats the story ? I gooogled but couldn't find anything.

With all of the recent changes in local/Island tourism promotion and funding, there are a lot of people who have a heavily vested interest in seeing that we move forward without any further disruptions. I also believe that there is a strong foundation of people who think that Kerri is doing a good job. I think that we will find the local media to be silent on this issue until such a time where that is no longer possible (if of course we ever get there).

"When artillery Sgt. Jayden Cormier gets his morning coffee, the Victoria man, now on a mission in Latvia, stands in a United Nations mix of grinds and brews."
Matt, what is his rank?

Now, as awful as the crime is reported here, where in the heck did the reporter come up with this line?
A Victoria man who sexually assaulted his four-year-old daughter over a seven-month period acknowledged in court that he is a despicable and worthless human being.

It's not really supported by the rest of the article.
Odd.

I can only assume that the Times Colonist has let all of its editors go.
...Scott is white, five-foot-10 and slim with a “rough” complextion, and has with blond hair and facial hair. He has several tattoos, including an “old-school” style nautical tattoo on his on his left forearm...

Reading between the lines there, it looks like Rob Reid was told about swastikas on his store.

Young has long maintained that there won’t be parking in Langford as long as he is mayor.
