remember when the left used to boycott nike? Nike definitely figured them out

why would they choose to shoot themselves like this is unclear. same for the players kneeling. players could kneel after touchdowns kneel at half time kneel at the end of the game kneel at the end of each quarter kneel after warm-up. take the kneeling away from the anthem/flag time to make it very clear you are not protesting those two things. that was my partner's idea and it makes sense. cameras are still there especially at touchdowns.

"The alt-right calls for a Nike boycott will fail just like the boycott of Dick's Sporting Goods failed," said Matt Powell, a senior advisor with market research firm NPD Group. "Old angry white guys are not a core demographic for Nike."
Everyone is the alt-right to these people.

"these people" being market researchers I guess. Venn diagram of market researchers and anti-fa members is a circle.

Would you prefer the term "racists" or "white supremacists"?

Yeah! Screw the little people if they have a problem with millionaire NFL player grandstanding! Why can't they be compassionate and tolerant like Nike!
And yet you have no problem with millionaire President grandstanding. I wonder why that is...

It has been made abundantly clear by those who have been kneeling that this has nothing to do with the anthem or the military - yet - those who are against the kneelers have chosen not to listen to the message and insist on trying [weekly] to make this about "disrespecting veterans" or "disrespecting the anthem" or whatever.

Kaep is not one of the best QBs in the leage - not even close. He lost his starting job prior to this whole kneeling business.
That being said, he is a better QB than 90% of the back-up QBs on NFL rosters and he'd probably be an upgrade over 5or 6 starters. He has obviously been black-balled by the league as he is certainly talented enough to be on a NFL roster. My guess is teams have chosen to avoid the media circus.

Colin Kaepernick in 2016 had a 90.7 QB rating, and was the 26th ranked QB in the league. His career average is 88.9. He also started the last 11 games the 49ers played in 2016, so clearly hadn't lost his starting job.
I'm not sure what you're taking issue with. He was a below average starting QB but would be an upgrade at back-up for most teams, which is exactly what I said.

Oh there’s irony alright! It’s in the fact that those who deem themselves elated, worldly and socially aware consumers are Nike’s targets for sweatshop made kicks, and they’re responding just as the marketing brains predicted. The so-called angry old white men, apparently, are not Nike’s target. Go figure.[complains about labeling, while using "these people" unironically in same sentence]

they only do it during the anthem clearly they want to respect the flag/anthem/country and yes maybe veterans.

So who was it that dictated that kneeling during the national anthem is disrespectful?
Posted 05 September 2018 - 08:44 AM
taking some form of political action or signal in that 2 minutes rather than the other 178 minutes of each game means it was done there on purpose.

Thanks captain obvious for pointing out these players are kneeling during the national anthem on purpose. Very well done.
Look, they have successfully grabbed attention and many have spoken eloquently about their concerns. Some have chosen to not listen because our society today is all about taking sides and fighting about everything instead of listening.
[My personal opinion is that the national anthems shouldn't be played prior to professional club league games.]
