From today's business news column by Darron Kloster in the T-C:

Made in Japan Teriyaki Experience, a mall foodcourt staple since the mid-1980s with 114 quickserve places in Canada, will open at least three locations in Victoria in the coming year. The Canadian franchise, which opened recently in Woodgrove Centre, isn't providing location details.

Foodcourts ...in malls -- suburbs? Western Communities?

3 locations: Hillside, Mayfair and the Bay Centre. I may be mistaken but Westshore Town Centre (formerly CanWest) does not have a food court, and neither does Tillicum.

I'd be very happy if anyone reading this can point me to a source for an authentic, simple, Japanese yakiniku lunch. This is a street vendor type item in Japan. Just delicious. Never had or seen anything like it since my last visit to Japan. I'd like to find a good soup soba too.

Any Japanese food lovers out there who know the best places? Teriyaki will do in a pinch, but I'm hoping it's out there somewhere.

MMMMM, foodcourts in malls. Wow, sounds like a real experience and good healthy food to boot.
