This seems to be taking forever. I noticed yesterday that a new sign is up at the top of the building.

I've been watching this reno for years it seems. I think they are well behind their original schedule.

Taken from the 14th floor in 1966 when the top 14 floors were apartments.
At the time Hy's Steakhouse was on the main floor and there was an outdoor swimming pool on the corner of the property on Douglas Street

The underground parking lot is still a huge and messy construction staging area. So they must still be doing work somewhere.

I believe only the top 8 floors or so are done, the rest are still being worked on. There's also a new stairwell that's being added for the parkade to bring it up to fire code, at the moment the way the exiting works only allows it to be used as staff parking, no public access.

It's a testament to the original architect that the design still holds up.
That's EXACTLY what I was thinking as I looked at it in Bingo's photo. Pretty sharp for such an oldster.
I was also thinking Paris Hilton ought to come to town for the grand opening.

And I was also thinking about the name change. It likely struggled a bit before internet sites like TripAdvisor and Expedia, not being branded. They went and branded now, while others like Laurel Point got through fine after they dumped the brand. Others, like Magnolia, were built during or at the beginning of the internet era, with no brand.

Went to Table 21 at the Executive House Doubletree by Hilton. It was good. For small plates, the portions were pretty substantial.

The ingredients sound even worse than the name.
