What could it be? Are they joining the MLS?
And what's up with the Whitecaps info-bit on Google? It's says "Vancouver Whitecaps FC was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Vancouver, British Columbia."

Maybe a TV deal? Nice to see them on Shaw TV like the Royals?... From what I see the MLS is to big for Victoria...

We are a long way from the MLS.
Here is I think a current picture of how it works. Highlander's are PDL. Pro Development League.
There has been talk in the past about us moving to USL/pro. But I think we need more fans for that.

Nope, not a move nor a TV deal nor upgrades to RAP (although any of those would be exciting). I'd say more but I'm probably on thin ice for denying the above rumours.

Ha ha, that's cool. I almost forgot you'd be the go-to guy to ask about Highlanders stuff.

Who are the "Coast Capital Savings Rangers" and why are they meeting and greeting "presented by Budweiser" (whoever that is)?

Follow the money baby! Budweiser (Labatt) is spending some money here, they have lost lots of ground to Molson over the last three or four years.

Really? I thought it was Molson who was in trouble.

I just mean in the local sales at pubs/restaurants. Molson has a fantastic set of reps everyone likes, Labatt had until recently, a series of failures.

Oh OK.
Did Budweiser even exist in Canada more than a few years ago?

Long as I can remember, it's brewed here in Canada, under license. Budweiser is the #1 bottled beer in many categories (like almost all nightclub sales, and many pub sales).

Funny, I don't really remember it from 10 years ago. It certainly seems to be more prominent now, but maybe I'm out to lunch.

It's an odd product in that it sells very well in bottles almost everywhere ("cool" to have on your table?) but not well at all on tap, except in places like Sticky Wicket, where bewildered tourists spot a familiar tap handle among all the local beers they don't know.
