Style is a personal taste and everyone's is different.  The intent was to add density to a single family area while minimizing opposition from the neighbors.  Taking style hints from surrounding buildings allowed for 24 units on a former duplex lot and eliminated the argument that they didn't fit in.  Most of the neighbors think its great which is a real exception for new developments in Victoria.

There are 24 units in that building? Well disguised if that is so.

Hope they keep the mural on the west wall.  Works really well with the heritage building next door and the Royal Theatre next to that.

I just took this off of Google Maps to show the parking lot along with the arched entry of the building just to the west.
On the left (east), parts of the Y and of the cathedral towers visible in the distance.

(The "827 Broughton" label in the picture is for the Geometry health facility, not the parking lot.)

An 83 unit rental building is proposed for 1908 Foul Bay Road, immediately south of BC Liquor store and SE of Save on Foods. The site is currently a Telus CO.

TELUS co-location sites which once upon a time were considered "don't know, don't tell" sites. As they are or were considered critical pieces of comms gear and infrastructure not only the corporation but certain federal government agencies kept them - and conversations *about* them - very low key. Aside from their critical utility they are obviously of interest to various foreign state actors.

I noticed that ‘Telus CO’ on Feltham is behind fencing now. They have a residential project coming to that site.
