yah, so anyways...speaking of SOFMC, is anyone else hoping that another group in Victoria buys out the operating lease from RG Properties, and runs this properly!? Adds the finishing touches, not to mention a proper centre ice score board, and runs the place professionally. I'd still like to see junior hockey come back to Victoria, I swear it would generate far more interest than the ECHL, especially now that Vancouver and Chilliwack have junior teams, and it would be a great rivalry for a Victoria team.

No. I find most folks who want junior hockey back have never seen minor-pro. It's way better than WHL hockey.

I've seen both and I prefer junior hockey. Sure the 20+ year old players in ECHL are bigger and stronger, more experienced, and usually consist of the best of the junior leagues that couldn't make it in the NHL, or even the AHL. However, the junior brand seems to be a more exciting game, more intensity, more big dreams on the line, and each team usually has some one or two potential big time NHL stars, some of whom are far better than anyone toiling in the ECHL even though they are teenagers. More to the point, I'd much rather see a rivalry between Victoria and Vancouver, or Kelowna, or Kamloops, than Victoria and the Utah Grizzlies, or Bakersfield, Fresno or Long Beach. Currently it's like playing in a vacuum, with no natural rivalries, or interaction between fans and media.

^How about that Victoria/Wheeling rivalry? Or the the Victoria/Gwinnett rivalry? No? Anybody?

The Victoria/Alaska rivalry is strong for those that follow the league.
