Artist Jimmy Wright - who gained international recognition by painting polar bears, dogs, bison and cypress trees on large canvasses that he first covered with old pieces of frayed and torn cloth napkins - has died at age 71.
This is sad news following on the heels of the death of veteran local artist Fenwick Lansdowne a couple of weeks ago and the deaths of Myfanwy Pavelic and E.J. Hughes last year.
