everything is backwards. the waste is being filtered into so many streams to protect landfill however all it does it add more vehicles on the road, more costs to the varying clients (which in turn shockingly increases prices) and creates confusion.

instead of just biting a bullet and building an actual real life current Material Recovery Center the CRD is creating revenue streams. we are missing the forest for the trees on this.

and yes, recycling plastics is a wonderful circle. the resources it takes to clean and process it nevermind the lack of markets for our dirty products has thousands of tons everywhere just sitting and waiting.

Lovely.

Just showed up at my mum’s place in Victoria. It’s recycling day.

A squid* got to her recyclables, and fanned out bottles all across the driveway, not finding what he or she was looking for. I had to pick up the broken glass and put everything back. What a disgrace.

*Squid is the slang term VicPD uses for the street community, btw. The not so nice and considerate ones.

Know it all.
Citified.ca is Victoria's most comprehensive research resource for new-build homes and commercial spaces.
