It seemed that the thought was that it was the pastoral setting that is missing from cities and that providing it would somehow create a utopia.


Cities would be great if only we could isolate them from their urban settings.

I think having parks in cities is very important. I'm particularly a fan of large grand parks. Being able to walk or ride your bike to somewhere "quiet" and natural is great. But private parks around large buildings don't make sense to me.
