Ya Pig aint the same. Cornbread no longer made in house, No more garlic butter, buns not the same etc. I think it was sold and someone started doing more shopping at the super store and less making in house....
It's still OK if you need a quick bite to eat, but, as somebody who smokes meat in their spare time, I can tell you it was shite BBQ at the best of times and the quality has really gone downhill big time.

So are we able to confirm that it's under new ownership?

Just tried La Roux Patisserie on Fisgard Street. Victoria has an abundance of really good bakeries, etc., but I don't think I've ever had a better croissant. Jars of creme brulee and bread pudding in the case, too.

http://www.timescolo...eries-1.2319573A Victoria restaurant has been shortlisted as one of the country’s best new eateries by EnRoute, Air Canada’s in-flight magazine.
Agrius was among 35 restaurants chosen by a panel of industry experts. The magazine uses the shortlist to select the top 10 new restaurants in Canada each year.
Agrius opened last fall at 732 Yates St., along with the new downtown location of Fol Epi bakery. Owner Cliff Leir and Harris combine French cuisine with a local influence and organic ingredients.

Black Olive will be re-opening. As a Japanese Tapas bar.
Yes, we argued over that back in March. Is it any good? I swore off gimmick sushi after Sushi Rock Cafe.

Ya, it's been open for months now. Hard to tell if any progress is being made to re-open Penelope's next door. Someone should paper those windows, it does not add anything to the sushi place having the connecting restaurant full of junk.

It is great and not gimmicky one bit. Very authentic.

We went a couple of Sundays ago. Very enjoyable.
I love being shouted at when I enter a restaurant. ( walk in you'll see what I mean)

Walk into Vibrant Victoria's commissary and you'll hear plenty of shouting. Mike K. likes to think he's Gordon Ramsay, only more annoying and insufferable.

The bangers and mash are worth it.
