Love the idea. Not sure I agree with the decision to call it Dockside - Merridale already has a lot of name recognition that the new venture could benefit from.

^ New build. DG has zoning for some smaller height commercial right along Harbour Rd with taller residential closer to Tyee Rd. I would assume the plans would have similar heights to the Farmer Construction building or offices closer to the Goose connection & Fol Epi building.

Could this be located near the Harbour Road/Esquimalt Road intersection?

Know it all.

I think it will be in precinct 5 (or maybe 4), but you're right Mike, it could be 1. I had heard that the plan is to build from the existing buildings south to Esquimalt Rd, with precinct 7 being the final section.

Also the Topsoil project, which was in 5 has since moved to 7 so hopefully things get moving along here. So much promise in that area.

This puts even more pressure on the Roundhouse project.  A distillery/brewhouse could'a, should'a, would'a already have been there.

I could see Roundhouse having a place like Tap and Barrel in Vancouver.

Tap & Barrel is a little too posh I think, but hey, it's the Songhees. Something along the lines of Craft would be amazing!

I don't even drink beer, but I love the interior of that space.

^That place is crazy. It's like two Canoe Clubs stacked end to end. Huge beer list, too. Check it out next time you're there. Yes, that type of place would do well here.

From what I have seen of their other locations (Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa), Craft pays a lot of attention to restoration and heritage in their designs. Roundhouse would be a perfect fit!

Capacity of Craft Vancouver is 400. It's a little overwhelming, but I've never had an issue with service or timeliness. They definitely know what they're doing.

Tap & Barrel is a another small chain similar to Craft. The Lonsdale location is another huge industrial space.

I always forget about Lonsdale! Yes, that Tap & Barrel is much more industrial than their Olympic Village and Convention Centre locations.

I have actually traveled to Vancouver to enjoy both Tap & Barrell and Craft. Two weeks ago I did both in the same day. Life was great. Wish we had that here!!!

Like the Salt building Craft is in the shipyard facility Tap & Barrell has in North Van is "legit". It is also the background for a lot of movies before it's current use. Half of Zoolander was filmed in it - and I'm sure a lot of better films too.

The space is not for sale the business is for sale whomever purchases the business will have to pay a lease for the space or move the business somewhere else...and the business name is not included just the equipment and the food cart...huge difference

✪ BREAKING: Mandatory high heel policies banned from B.C. workplaces

Employers are no longer allowed to force women to wear high heels on the job in British Columbia.

My restaurant does not ask for high heels.  BUT, just because of our table heights and stuff, ladies that work the floor have to be at least 5'9" in whatever footwear they choose to wear.
