Prior Lake is not the sort of environment most lifeguards will want to lifeguard at.

It's a shame, that this form of architectural diversity and land use is now considered outdated and irrelevant to our urban fabric.

They don't design beaches like they used to.

It’d be cool to make a beach like the final scene of Planet of the Apes.

It’d be a good tourist attraction.

The north end of Willows Beach would work just fine. Or Mt. Doug.

What are things you might hear when a VV staff meeting gets heated?

Island Health has issued beach advisories for three Island beaches due to high enterococci levels.

Willows Beach South EndMount Douglas Park Beach and Esquimalt Gorge Park Kinsmen Beach are the Island beaches that have been issued the advisories due to enterococci levels.

According to Health Canada, enterococci is a bacteriological indicator of fecal contamination.

Mount Doug has the highest reading of the three, with 500 enterococci per 100 millilitres, followed by Willows Beach at 180 and Kinsmen Beach at 110.

Who's doing all the pooping on local beaches?

Plus, videos from a Wasaga Beach resident in Ontario are being shared widely on social media after she accused immigrants, mainly from India, of defecating in holes on the beach and burying it.

Otters fatally injure dog, threaten another at Central Saanich beach

A dog was reportedly euthanized after being bitten and held underwater by a group of otters at Island View Beach

Otters might look cute, like squirrels.  But in the end they are just rats of the sea.   :teacher:

Was out fishing in Port Renfrew last week and came across some Sea Lions which are much bigger than Otters. I would not want to wrestle with these guys. They were huge.
