It's a shame, that this form of architectural diversity and land use is now considered outdated and irrelevant to our urban fabric.

Island Health has issued beach advisories for three Island beaches due to high enterococci levels.

 

Willows Beach South End, Mount Douglas Park Beach and Esquimalt Gorge Park Kinsmen Beach are the Island beaches that have been issued the advisories due to enterococci levels.

 

According to Health Canada, enterococci is a bacteriological indicator of fecal contamination.

 

Mount Doug has the highest reading of the three, with 500 enterococci per 100 millilitres, followed by Willows Beach at 180 and Kinsmen Beach at 110.

Was out fishing in Port Renfrew last week and came across some Sea Lions which are much bigger than Otters. I would not want to wrestle with these guys. They were huge.
